말더듬이가 느리고 신중하게 말하려고 시도하는 기법으로, 종종 각 음절에 동일하거나 거의 동일한 강세가 주어집니다. 속도 조절이 "유창성을 촉진"하거나 "말더듬을 억제"하는 데 사용되는 정도는 매우 논란의 여지가 있습니다.

A technique with which the stutterer attempts to speak slowly and deliberately, often with each syllable given equal or nearly equal stress. The extent to which rate control is used to “facilitate fluency” or “repress stuttering” is highly controversial.
