두려움이 발화를 허용할 만큼 충분히 가라앉기를 바라면서, 두려워하는 소리나 단어를 발화하려는 시도를 멈추거나, 지연시키거나, 시간을 끄는 방식으로 말더듬을 피하기 위해 사용되는 모든 행동 또는 기법입니다.

Any behavior or technique used to avoid stuttering by pausing, delaying or stalling the attempt to produce a feared sound or word in the hope that the fear will subside enough to allow production.
